School Stationary (November 2021)
A group of USJ students launched a small initiative to collect school supplies for children whose parents cannot afford them. This group was made up of French and Lebanese students. These donations were made from France and Lebanon to help the Lebanese students with their school supplies such as school bags, notebooks, all kinds of pens, rulers, etc.
Al-Mazeed offered a space where these students can store their donated school materials, and worked with them to determine which families can and will receive these donations. The students already had a list of recipients, and we found families for the remaining donations.
The donation amount is estimated to be approximately USD 4,200 in school supplies with a monetary donation of LBP 3,955,000. These supplies were distributed to more than 400 families as well as to several schools such as the Saint Francois School of the Sisters of the Cross, the Public School of Barqa – Bekaa, and to some children at the Hôtel-Dieu de France Hospital – USJ
