Supporting Education in Bourj Hammoud – Collab with Collège Notre-Dame de Jamhour

Supporting Education in Bourj Hammoud

In 2024–2025, the senior students of Collège Notre-Dame de Jamhour launched a social action project to support a semi-private school in Bourj Hammoud, an area facing difficult socio-economic realities. The initiative aimed to renovate a severely deteriorated classroom and provide students with a healthier, safer, and more motivating learning environment.

The classroom in question had damaged walls, poor lighting, broken furniture, and lacked essential pedagogical equipment. Its renovation not only improves physical conditions but also restores hope for both students and teachers, reinforcing the importance of solidarity and inclusive education.

Thanks to the collaboration between students, educators, and various partners, the project budget was set at 4,470 USD. Al Mazeed proudly contributed 2,400 USD, covering 50% of the total cost. This contribution ensured the purchase of essential renovation materials and the installation of new equipment, including the school’s very first interactive board and computer.

The impact of this project goes beyond the physical renovation: it nurtures dignity, motivation, and a renewed sense of belonging for students in Bourj Hammoud. It also encourages young people from Jamhour to engage in social responsibility and develop a spirit of solidarity that transcends backgrounds.

At Al Mazeed, we believe that every child deserves access to quality education in a safe and inspiring environment. By standing with these students and teachers, we reaffirm our mission to support communities in need and to build a brighter, more inclusive future.
