Al Masrahiyya: Web-series (May 2021)
In collaboration with Rise to Bloom, USJ Chaplaincy and IESAV, a 5-episode web series was shot about the life of Youssef, a theater actor rehearsing for his play with the title “Al Masrahiyya” (the play).
This series tackles the different Lebanese personalities that we met after the August 4th explosion. In each episode, taking place in the theater (Youssef’s place of comfort), we meet a different character as well as an evolution of Youssef’s character towards the dialogue with this character. A path that every Lebanese faces today between guilt, rage, greed, and denial.
Youssef’s character and his story were inspired by the prophet Youssef in the Christian, Muslim and Jewish religions.
The purpose of this series is to show the reality of the country ironically in a play while encouraging the movement towards self-forgiveness, inner peace and action to change.
Al Masrahiyya was broadcasted on USJ’s social networks (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn and Twitter) and received a great reach and interaction on Instagram and Facebook.
